A burglary at a Michigan ice-cream store resulted in a not-so-sweet ending for the thief after he knocked over a large container of strawberry syrup.

Police say the 24-year-old suspect from Jackson accidentally dropped his wallet as he slipped in the mess, then fled without it.

"It was a bit of a giveaway," said Sheriff's Captain David Luce, who promptly went to his home where he got his man - with strawberry syrup still all over him.
