Fat burglar 'shafted'

A man trying to burgle a Stockholm office found out too late that he was too fat - he got stuck in a ventilation shaft.

The man was discovered when employees at the city Streets and Traffic department arrived at work and heard him knocking on the walls of the shaft behind an office. He had apparently crawled into the network of shafts from the roof, but then got stuck in a narrow passage in front of a wire grate.

Police didn't hurry to arrest him. "He wasn't going anywhere," a spokesman said.
