@farmerman,
I've always liked color, never cared if it made me look good or horrible re going with my eyes or hair or freckles (oh where oh where did my freckles go?). I blame my love of color on twelve years of school uniforms in brown (new york), navy (chicago) or gawdawful plaid in some kind of weird fabric (los angeles).

In contrast, my not too long ago business partner, who had nice grey hair, consistently wore gray or black or red clothes, with the exception of blue jeans, which passed her test for usefulness. She also had a beautiful and dressage-talented gray horse. But... her dogs and cats didn't follow that pattern.

@farmerman,
I think re the color...as we get grey/greyer, we need the additonal color to brighten things up a bit.

You really got a good deal on that TB shirt at $69. Anything under $88 is a good deal. New styles...are $108-125. My parents would reach a hand out of the grave if I ever approached the register with a shirt that price. It took an effort to buy a couple of last year's styles at $88 but I'm so glad I did. They fit well, look and feel great.

Found another Tommy Bahama shirt at a local thrift. $5.99 / then 50% off.

Also a giant Tommy Bahama bath sheet- brand new, store tags still in. $3.99 / 50% off. The towel is amazing. Plush and enormous.

@farmerman,
The shirt was fresh and bright.

I've been pretty lucky there lately.

The other week I found a brand new (store tags on/no wear at all) pair of Merrells that I paid less than $5 for.

@farmerman,
I looooooooovvvvvve Danskos. They were designed for my feet. That was one thing I had in common with my business partner (well, there were other things, interests in art, animals, design, food, blah blah) but definitely Danskos. I need a new pair.

Those were the only shoes I took to italy for my last month long trip; they handle cobblestones and concrete well for a person with high foot arches. I finally broke down though and bought some sneakers, so tacky poo.

@ossobuco,
trouble with danskos is that all their mens shoes are a bit too gay. Even their boots look suspect.

@farmerman,
Eh!

I don't know if they have diversified re their basic shoe design, but for this high arched foot woman, they were just right. Now, decades later, my feet are a tad more spready so I think I need the next size up.

'K, back to shirts.

@ossobuco,
I have a friend whose son is a sales pro for Dansko and he said that they got that "gay show for men complaint" a lot. SOO, theyve been working on a Doc Martin look.
