I, Claudius

It's a enogh nice story, but I'm afraid that I haven't seen it produced or read it.

But give me the really violent evil women anyday. Give me Medea! Give me Clytemnestra! Anybody who's willing kill their children for the sake of revenge or their husbands for the sake of power is good in my books.

That said, i love the old greek tragedies but don't get that much time to read at the moment ( sob) . At least, not fiction.

I agree, Eccles Very Happy.. enough with the soppy crap, is what I say. I prefer the outspoken Shakespeare heroines: Rosalind, Beatrice and the like...

And damn. I suppose you're reading up for work? Non-fiction books become ten times as boring, usually, when they're for a work purpose..

Ahem . . . has there been a Response in there?

The Merry Wives of Windsor

(Always found that title perplexing--everytime i've gone to Canada by driving through Detroit, all i've seen in Windsor are strip joints and Cuban cigar stores--precious little for wives to be Merry about . . . )

(Those damn wives would probably enjoy strip-joints and Cuban cigar stores... I do dislike that play...)

Robin Hood: Men in Tights

Written, directed and produced by Mel Brooks

(I read it about 45 years ago, when far too young to appreciate its worth, if any.)

Ah, Setanta; it was written quickly to please Elizabeth the First: a play about the Plebians. It's one, long Tudor genitals-joke...

O no, Eccles; so you're doing something that doesn't even interest you? How did you fall into that?
