Does this happen often?

I think Rogers observation should be taken seriously, these things can take odd twists. Given your job, you might want to consult an attorney to discuss what you might do to further protect yourself.

I was going to say that. Whole bunches of us will vouch for you. (Ah, but would they listen?) Nehmind. You are articulate in your concern for children's well being and I am not worried about your making that clear to anyone.

Yes it is very common to use language that is tantamount to advertising child porn.

Usually, the actual porn does not contain mnors but is aimed at depicting an illusion of it.

In the US, laws were proposed to make it illegal to depict child pornography even if the participants are not childred (for example, police fear computer generated child pornography that would difficult their jobs) but they were too broad and might have made movies like American Beauty illegal.

Simply put, yes, this is common and quite frankly futile to forward to police.

What I would do is determine where the email originated and where the advertised site is hosted and contact the hosts and local law enforcement there.

Your local police will probably not know or care enough to trace it.

You did the right thing, you reported it. It is still a scary situation and would give us all second thoughts about whether or not they (the authorities) may think us the guilty parties here. I think nothing can be proven for anyone unless they used their credit card to purchase and download it.

I'm working on it. Bad news is that it's not a joke, it's real and really IS showcasing child porn, not fake stuff.

Dear goddess! I worried that it was, you know - not that I have any experience, but the promises looked rather real.

The site was registered with a fake name:

Korban Dallas (I believe this is from the film 5th element)
It was registered at name15.com but that outfit itself looks shoddy at least and probably won't be much help.

The site is hosted in China and here is all the contact info on the host network. Note that it may be on a hacked box and these hosts may not even be aware.

The email was onsensibly sent from hally.com but I can't confirm this unless you forward the email to me as an attachment. And not the one you sent to the cops but the original.

Thank you!!!! I appreciate this very much.

I deleted the original, dammit.

I only have the copy of the email I sent to the police.

But I can follow this up from work.

I normally send attachments from work - and the computer there has a thing on the email you use to do it - my home email program has no such thing!!!

Child porn is more popular now due to so many people have access on the internet, it more widely distributed.

People who create child porn or get some sick pleasure out of it belong in the deepest depths of hell, next to Judas.

Not sure what mail prohram you are using - if it is outlook then you should "insert as an item" the offending mail. Like for eg in Yahoo, you can fwd the mail "as an attachment"

Wanna try and lemme know ?
