CHICAGO (AFP) - When Indiana bailbondsman Kerry Edwards snagged the domain name kerryedwards.com, cybersquatting wasn't the first thing on his mind.
But the pairing of Senators John Kerry and John Edwards on the Democratic ticket this election year has reportedly changed all that.
The bondsman has received several five-figure offers for the domain name, which he bought in March 2002, the Chicago Sun-Times reported Friday.
First came the online advertising companies, then a "staunch Republican," who hoped to keep the domain out of enemy hands, and then on Wednesday, a representative from the Senators' campaign team.
The rep reportedly balked at the asking price, so the enterprising Indianapolis bondsman is planning to sell the domain name to the highest bidder on eBay, the online auction site.
Registering a domain name usually costs fewer than 30 dollars.
