Help! i dyed my hair with loreal Hd black/blue hair dye. I asked my hairdresser what home hair colour he would recommend. My hair is a natural me blonde colour. He suggested coloring first with a dark brown then leave it fir a week before applying the loreal Hd dye, which i did.
I went on holiday and use intense cinditioner of my hair. On my return i had a elasticity and porous test done on some strands. The results were shocking. They told me that lot of my hair breaks very easily and my previous hairdresser should not have suggested dying it the why he suggested.
Is there a way i can cover my roots without causing more damage while this colour is growing out naturally????

@brownowl,
He suggested to dye it an inbetween brown first to make sure that you had all the missing red and blue pigments from your rather golden/yellow pigmented hair naturally so the black wouldnt turn out muddy looking. I am guessing your hair to be fine in diameter per hair to not be able to take a standard darkening color process plus waiting a week in between should have not caused any harm in a double process darkening unless the dyes were incompatible. You can get a semi/demi dark/black color for roots that only sticks to the outside of the hair shaft and gradually washes out for growing your natural out or go in salon for color correction but if your hair is super fine and doesn't work well with chemicals I wouldnt reccommend it. Get a strand test b4 any salon corrective color service.
