DRIVER DOES IT AGAIN
A man who had the front of his home demolished when a car crashed into it has revealed that the same driver had done it again 12 months later.
Retired Gordon White, of Liversedge, West Yorkshire, returned home to find his living room in tatters in an uncanny repeat of an incident on July 28 last year.
Then the driver of an Austin Montego suffered a blackout at the wheel and ploughed straight into Mr White's living room.
Mr White said this time, the same man - now driving a Ford Escort - lost control on the same road and drove headlong into his newly refurbished living room.
"I couldn't believe it. It was the same man, the same time of year, the same road, the same house.
"Next year I'll wait in for him and make him a cup of tea."
The driver of the car, 60-year-old Eric Williams, of Brighouse, Huddersfield, said he had been behind the wheel on both occasions and was very upset about the incidents.
He said: "At the moment I can't put into words how I'm feeling. I wish it had been my house.
"All I can remember is going down the hill and indicating to turn left. Then I don't remember anything until I got out of the car."
