She Leaps to Death Where Partner Died Fleeing Cops

BERLIN (Reuters) - A German woman has jumped to her death from the balcony of her twelfth-floor apartment, two days after her boyfriend died in a botched abseiling attempt from the same flat as he tried to escape from the police.
The 26-year-old man, wanted by police on two arrest warrants, fell Saturday trying to flee the apartment via the balcony after police knocked on the door, police said on Tuesday.

The suspect used a piece of clothing to lower himself and made it to the eleventh floor, but fell when he tried to abseil down to the tenth floor, they said.

The 25-year-old woman was treated for shock Saturday and released from hospital. She returned to the apartment Monday and leapt to her death.
