I'm looking for an MP3 player. Can you help?

You don't need the ripping sotware as part of your MP3 player, heck Windows comes with software you can use to rip your CDs.

Windows Media Player rips all your CDs to WMA, which is a format better than mp3 (better compression and quality) and that most mp3 players support.

As to having an adapter for a car I do not believe any come with it. Some electronics manufactuers manufacture specifically for iPod but anyone can use a simple FM transmitter.
