so what i want to know is this Exclamation
Arrow if the sun is at its perihelion on the 3rd january which as you scientists will know is the closest to the earth, and also in january it is winter in the north hemisphere and summer in the southern hemisphere
and if the earth is at its aphelion or furthest point on the 5th july which is summer in north and winter in south etc....
does this mean that the summers are hotter in the southern hemisphere and the winters are colder due to this sun earth distance or doesn't it make a difference Question ps i know many factors make the temperature what it is but does this one make a difference Question

The affect is pretty small when compared to other factors.

Actually i understand the winters and summers are more moderate in the southern hemisphere. (except obviously for antarctica) This is supposedly due to there being a larger percentage of water in the s. hemisphere- ocean currents move heat and cold around more efficiently.

Satellites around the Earth will receive different energies from the Sun in the times of periherion and apherion.

I don't worry about it. The Sun is really far away.
