Brown dye

I have naturally mouse brown hair. I have had it almost all blonde for about 1 year. Due to my roots growing so fast I decided to go back to my previous color(Ombre) I went to my regular hair dresser. She out the dark brown on top like always and when we rinsed it , it wasn't dark at all. So we dried it and tried again. This time it was darker but not as dark as it should have been. So 1 week later we did a protein treatment and she did it again. Like 2 washes later it is like 3 shades lighter. I don't know what to do. I do have to wash my hair daily(its greasy at the top dry at the bottom) I use good shampoo. HELP!!
