How would you fix my orange hair?

I have very light brown hair with orange tones. I'm not an expert but I think my darkness level is a 6. I don't want my hair to be any lighter or darker, I just want to take out the orange and be a light brown with yellow tones instead of orange. I know there are toners out there but I was wondering if I could fix it by coloring it myself with drugstore box dye. I am thinking of using loreal 6A light ash brown Or 7a dark ash blonde. Which do you think would get me the results I want? Thanks.

@vickysmith92,
I'm a 'Celtic Silver' man myself, so cannot really help, but good luck in your quest.

@vickysmith92,
A 6A should be good as ash controls warn tones. If you beleive your about a lv.6, dont go to lv.7 as this will lighten your hair. If the lv.6 looks a little dark @ first, it always fades a bit after a few washes! After mixing up box dye, let it sit about 5-7 mins to bypass the lifting stage as you need deposit only if not wanting to lighten/darken your hair b4 applying.
