I have a yellow canary named Dic-dic. He is about 2 and very healthy. Clean feathers , eyes, pink skin , no problems with his feces , eats good etc.. His diet is that of what he needs , Rape seed being promenint . He gets fresh Veggies every day . Apples, carrot , some lettuce . I also add vitamin drops to his water. He bathes himself normally , sings all the time..
but .. every time I see him, he is chewing on one of his feathers??!!! He doesnt have any bald spots so he isnt taking them out in a large number, just pulling one out and chewing on it ALL the time.
Is this a nervous habit of canaries ? Is this something to be concerned about? Or is Dic-dic just wierd like his owner?
