My father recently unearthed a bunch of ancient letters and found what is probably a 1960's equivalent of a clever email forward. Enjoy.
First God created Aristotle
And objects at rest tended to remain at rest
And objects in motion tended to come to rest
And eventually everything was at rest
And God saw that it was boring.
Then God created Newton
And objects at rest tended to remain at rest
And objects in motion tended to remain in motion
And matter was conserved, and energy was conserved
And God saw that it was conservative.
Then God created Einstein
And everything was relative
And straight things became curved
And fast things became short
And God saw that it was generally relative, but some things were more relative than others.
Then God created Bohr
And everything was quantum
And everything was quantified
But some things were still relative
And God saw that it was confusing.
Then God would have created Ferguson
And everything would have been simple
And everything would have been explained
But it was the seventh day, and God rested.
And objects at rest tend to remain at rest.
But god created Murphy, and we all know what happened after that!
Ha! Good one to both of you!
