how to correct bleached hair

I want to dye my hair red. I'm a natural dirty blonde. The top 3/4 of my hair is my natural dirty blonde color and the bottom 1/4 of my hair is a bleached blonde (before I stopped getting it done I was getting it bleached). What do I use first on the bottom 1/4 that's bleached so that it doesn't turn a crazy orange and not match the top half of my hair? My desired result is a consistent red throughout.
