zero - the trench is already dug

It should be 20.
If you are reducing the number of workers by half, the time taken should be double.
Zero is also a good answer as the trench is already made.

That's 80 man hours. but with four men you need a foreman. That means one man doesn't dig. so the answer is 80/3=26 2/3 hrs.
