I was about to use "between serenity and turmoil", meaning someone who is facing both conditions, but now I am hesitating about the the best of the following options:

between serenity and turmoil
among serenity and turmoil (I believe this one is not an option)
amid serenity and turmoil
amidst serenity and turmoil

Any help would be appreciated.
