@Olivier5,
Indeed I do, Mon Ami, and that one by them was fantastic in a minor key.

How about some country now. It's this guy's birthday, so since I don't know him, here is some info:

Robert Joseph "Bobby" Bare, Sr. is an American country music singer and songwriter, best known for Detroit City and 500 Miles Away from Home. He is the father of Bobby Bare, Jr., also a musician.

Now, his song:

For those who don't know, Bobby Bare's first record was accidentally labeled as by Bill Parsons.

Mark, thanks for that information, dear friend. You continue to amaze me.Didn't know that guy but he was great.

Saying good afternoon with three songs.

First Jackie Chan whose birthday is today:

Now, a great Spanish guy:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RkHWaMJ6fl0

and, a Hebrew man with a marvelous instrumental.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vycQy1htbp4

and, the lyrics:

The song a robin sings
Through years of endless springs
The murmur of a brook at even tide
That ripples by a nook where two lovers hide

A great symphonic theme
That's Stella by starlight and not a dream
Mmm, my heart and I agree
She's everything on Earth to me

The murmur of a brook at even tide)
That ripples by a nook where two lovers hide

A great symphonic theme
That's Stella by starlight and not a dream
Oh, my heart and I agree
She's everything on Earth to me (on Earth to me)

Love the mix of music here today.

If I may…a tune for waking up…by a man who truly knows how to make a trumpet sing.

The message of this cartoon is as relevant today as it was then. If someone high up makes a mistake, the rest close ranks so it's nearly impossible to see who made the mistake in the first place.

Good morning from a sunny but windless day here in our Florida radio station.

edgar/Mark. Love North to Alaska by Jerry Lee and Lin.

Frank, Great to see you here again. Loved that song by Rafael Mendez.

Izz with a y, that Punch message tells it like it is today as it was yesterday.

Anyone remember "the cat man"?

Here's a surprise, y'all. (well, it is to me)

Today is this man's birthday, but first some info:

John Charles Julian Lennon (born 8 April 1963) is a British musician. He is the only child of John Lennon and his first wife Cynthia. The Beatles' manager, Brian Epstein, was his godfather. He has a younger half-brother, Sean Lennon. Lennon was named after his paternal grandmother, Julia Lennon.

@edgarblythe,
I had no idea about Julian, edgar/Mark. I Recall Stan making fun of Lawrence Welk. Thanks for The Yellow Rose, buddy.

For some reason I was thinking about this famous five:

I just looked at edgar/Mark's horrible photo of people who are drowning tortoises. Maybe we should make this animal day on WA2K:

First, The Turtles:

Now, The Monkees:

People have always lamented the (supposed) decline of the theatre. Today, it's TV, cinema and the internet. Back then it was Music Hall. I believe the Harry Quilter in question is this person, but I may be wrong.

Quote:
From 1876 to 1887 Quilter was an art critic and journalist, writing chiefly for The Spectator. In 1880–81 he was also for a time art critic for The Times in succession to Tom Taylor.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry_Quilter

Quote:
A Rap for the Ravens.

Here comes Harry Quilter and preaches once more,
On that old old text, the Decline of the Drama.
This business, good Sirs, is becoming a bore,
More shapes it has taken than Vishnu or Brahma.
The grumblers will have it that all things decline,
Old England itself—unless Fair Trade reprieve it—
Our plays and our pictures, our women, our wine,—
And the public, that also declines—to believe it!

Good morning to all from a sunny day here in our Florida radio station.

Hurry back dear pullman. Ah, your news fits ours here.

Just a memory jog for our listeners and contributors:
We don't do the rating system here, because it doesn't
match the forum of any radio station. I even thumbed down
my own contributions. More about that later.

Three songs for the morning here by Four Brothers:
