@Letty,
I liked the tributes to Alan Rickman and Nina Simone, but I didn't recognize
the third one.

Here's an oldie for you, but interpreted by Nnenna Freelon.

@George,
I didn't know that one either, dear friend, I just played it because it was
his birthday.

Love that duo doing Will You Love Me Tomorrow.

Going to say good afternoon with two songs.

First one that I sang in the fifth grade by Ella.

I coughed when I tried to hit those high notes. Smile

Now, more hope:

@Letty,
"I'm Beginning To See the Light" is a long-time favorite of mine.

Here is an entirely different style and direction.

@George,
Loved Joni Mitchell's singing in the Alan Rickman tribute. Here's a younger Ms. Mitchell performing the same song -- someone unfamiliar with her career might find it hard to believe it's the same singer.

@Letty,
That was a sad and sobering piece on Buffalo Bill and Sitting Bull.

I'm calling on Art Blakey to cheer me up.

@George,
Glad you liked the tribute to George Washington, dear friend.

That Ozzie band doing Deep Pacific was fantastic

What a surprise to find out that Art Blakey and his jazz band did Quicksilver.

It reminded me of why my Mamma had a glass thermoeter and I looked
at the silver in it and recalled and old song about "..you slipped throug my
fingers just like quicksilver. (I'll use your word hoot for the one)

Here's another golden oldie introduced my my sister and she played
it on our record player.

four leaf clovers are the only green things in my front yard.

come on and let's sing along witth him. Smile

I'd sing along, but it would clear this place out.

Here's a versatile singer who passed away this month.

the sing along. Love Al doing Teach me Tonight.

Then seek and you shall find. Smile

Hurry back, dear friend. I'm going to say good afternoon with a fond
memory of my husband's artificial tree which still has those
tiny little light glistening on it.

@George,
Ah, just like Mac Arthur, my Christian friend George has returned.

Love Miles Davis doing Gingebread Boy. Reminded me of my
late husband who got miles of smiles from that fantastic quintet.

Going to say good afternoon a bit early as I need to get good memories
again.

First, the only member of the rat pack that I truly enjoyed:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WD55UJHHGc4

Now, another hymn that is healing:

It's suppoed to be Abide with me, but
that awful windows 10 wouldn't let me delete or play. <sniff>

Yo, people and Letty! Was listening to that song and thought that you good people on the radio could like it. It's a cover of a Jimmy Cliff's song by Joe Jackson original band. Gosh, what a bass line!... Did another rock band ever manage to make a bass sound so melodious and bouncy?

Jimmy Cliff - The Harder They Come

Well, they tell me of a pie up in the sky
Waiting for me when I die
But between the day you're born and when you die
You know, they never seem to hear even your cry

Chorus:
So as sure as the sun will shine
I'm gonna get my share now what is mine
And then the harder they come
The harder they fall
One and all
The harder they come
The harder they fall
One and all

And the oppressors are trying to track me down
They're trying to drive me underground
And they think that they have got the battle won
I say, forgive them Lord, they know not what they've done

[Chorus]

And I keep on fighting for the things I want
Though I know that when you're dead you can't
But I'd rather be a free man in my grave
Than living as a puppet or a slave

[Chorus]

Another example of the bassist doing all the work in a Joe Jackson song:

Joe Jackson - Friday

The bassist is Graham Maby. I saw him in concert once in one of Joe Jackson's tour. He is the only bassist I know who plays a 6-string bass.
