The Kingston Trio had the best seller of The Reverend Mr Black, but there are several good versions, letty.
Never heard of Sissel, but she sings real good.

but, time marches on

@edgarblythe,
Mr. Creator, thanks for keeping us on the air. I didn't know Sissel either, I just liked Going Home. I enjoy the Kingston trio too.

Love Roy doing Time Marches ON and sometimes it marches too fast. Smile

Well, we did Bach, so how about some Beethoven now:

"Bach" later. Smile

Good morning from a very chilly Florida radio station.

I walked outside and looked up at the blue sky and said to myself. "Where is the heavenly sunshine?"

Well, Roman, you sent me searching and I found out that your song meant:

"the small happiness". Smile
Now, two golden oldies:

@Letty,
Quote:
"the small happiness"

That's the literal translation, but it's not what it means. "Au petit bonheur" (or "au petit bonheur la chance") is an expression that means "at random", "trusting one's good luck".

The meaning of "heur" in old French is "augury, fortune", and thus, "bon-heur" originally meant "good luck" and "mal-heur" meant "bad luck". Nowadays these words have taken on another meaning: that of happiness / sadness, or good event / bad event.

@Olivier5,
Thanks, Mon Ami, for the further explanation.

Loved that Cali song, and although I can't do a translation, it reminded me of my calico cat named Big Mamma. Smile

She was amazing, and played with her paws on the black keys of the piano.

Wake up everybody. We're hear to a muse you. Smile

Welcome back, Mr. Creator and I loved The Kingston Trio doing that Paris song.
Hope you liked "those golden oldies" that we played here.

@Olivier5,
Ah, Mon Ami, Thanks for the explanation of that Cali song. I looked at his face and thought that he might have gotten cat scratch fever. Smile

Two memories now as it's Andrew Lloyd Webber's birthday.

Mr. Creator, thanks for your comment, and I loved They Call the Wind Mariah.

So long ago, Roger and I had a funny discussion involving.

I recall having met Jennifer Savitch at Cocoa Beach. She was Irish and lived in a tall tower with winding metal stairs. I had a bit of trouble descending that stairway, and she followed me down and we sat at the bottom of it and she put her hand on my shoulder, and I looked up at her with a smile.

There was a swimming pool at the front of that tower and I went in it with my clothes on. Smile

Here is what she sang:

Back later, dear friends

Well, y'all, going to say good afternoon now here in Radio III. I will always
appreciate edgar starting this one.

First Light Wizard's comment on the original WA2K radio.

"a stroke of genius"

That may be what my long time friend Roger had as he is quite intelligent. Smile

Setanta love this poem set to music. It was written by Alfred Lord Tennyson.

I remember telling him: "who was that pilot?"
