@edgarblythe,
Hoorah, we're back, Mark. Love that Canadian Cree. Thanks for the comment and personal acknowledgement.

How about two songs for the afternoon here.

Remember this one?

Morning All.

Quote:
WHAT a night it was! The New Year came in here , through the fog, with a new set of stamps. No wonder! Any amount of stamps wouldn't have done much towards warming his poor feet between midnight 1886 and one A.M. 1887. The New Year came in with new stamps - we'll hope he won't go out with an old breakdown.

Good Saturn's day here in our Florida radio station.

edgar, Loved Chuck doing Oh You Doll. Hurry back dear friend.

Ah, izz with a y, that quote was great. Love to read your contributions here and I hope the fog disappears and leaves you breathing better.

Olivier5, As you know I love that French national anthem, Mon Ami,k and you hurry back as well.

Three songs here for the day's beginning. First, as many Americans know, The Star Spangeld Banner should have remained a poem, and this great teacher's creation should be the one:

Now, y'all, two songs by a fantastic birthday guy:

@edgarblythe,
Thanks for your observation, dear friend. Love After the Lovin' by Englebert, Mark. It seems to me that no one sings better than the golden oldies.

I looked out my window and saw one butterfly.

It made me think of this golden oldie too.

How about a little commentary today on our radio.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9M6u7-9yNE

and, y'all, things we'll never know:

Who shot JFK
what happened to Jon Benet Ramsey
Where did the members of the lost colony disappear to

It was called Roanoke Island and my late husband and I visited there.

We met Andy Griffith and he was Sir Walter Rolly. Not a very nice man.

I was just writing about a butterfly last night.
Sometimes I think the legend about Buddy, Richie and Big Bopper is bigger than they. Their careers, at least. I love all three and have bought their records, so this is not a put down.

Here is Nat doing one I have not listened to lately.

@edgarblythe,
edgar/Mark, you and I share a lot in common, dear friend. Ah, dear Nat, another gone too soon. Loved Ramblin Rose by him.

Somehow, I was thinking about Bird Land. Here's Manhattan Transfer doing a different version:

Having a few problems here, y'all, so since I have company coming, I'll say good afternoon with two songs.

As edgar knows, I love Grease as a part of Saturday night fever.

Now, dear "blue eyes". He had problems as well.

Great having England and France with us last evening. Maybe Ireland and Scotland tomorrow.

From Letty with love to the world.

Morning all! More Punch.

Quote:
UNDER the heading of "A Novel Feature at a Wedding," we read in our favourite evening newspaper that on the departure of the bride and bridegroom there was a torchlight procession headed by Sir ARCHIBALD LAMB. Let him be henceforth styled SIR ARCHIBALD LAMP

Hurry back, Izz with a y. Always love your quotes from Punch.

Well, this is Sun Day here and the sun is NOT shining.

Just found a marvelous performer, y'all, but first some info.

The Jacques Loussier Trio was a French Third Stream jazz piano trio that became known for their Jazz interpretations of European classical music.] They were commonly known in France as "le trio Play Bach" after the title of their LPs

Now, a lovely Piano concerto:

Where is every one? Calling for music, poetry, music lovers and musicians.

I now look back at happier times.

Merle Haggard is a good artist. I don't always like his social views, but we can't have everything.

Doris Day "Perhaps" I think I told you about the time when I was a little kid and Doris Day was sitting at the table next to my parents and I while having lunch, somewhere along the coast but I don't recall what city we were in. She smiled and waved at me.
