Another memory, y'all. Today is Laura Ingalls Wilder's birthday.

quote from the past. "everyone knows I'm the real John Boy, Letty"

I referred to him as John in Virginia. He was a Viet Nam vet. <sniff>

Saying good afternoon now, although it's a bit early for me to do so. I have things that I must do:

From Bach to Beethoven:

@Fil Albuquerque,
Hurry back, dear friend. Loved that fabulous concerto by Claudio Beethoven. It reminded me of "..roll over Beethoven..." Smile

Today is Happy Chinese New Year, and it made me thing of Latin George's lovely Bride.

Now, a different group of Monkees. Smile

@edgarblythe,
Ah, Mr. Creator, I love that Honey Comb song.

Rather reluctant to play this one, but today is his birthday.

Let's remember the happier time with him:

"...in a coat he borrowed from James Dean..."

I used to care about James Dean, but all that has faded with time, for me.

@edgarblythe,
Ms. Letty, I wonder if you sang "East of the Sun" a time or two. I think it's appropriate, given it's the moon's day. The horn players backing up Lady Day sound great, but I have no idea who they were. Perhaps it's Lester Young on tenor.

@edgarblythe,
Lobo's For the Love of a Girl is one that I didn't know, but it was great.

As you know, I never used to like Pat Boone until I heard this one:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dUhtDhRO68

Another history mystery. Mrs. Anderson from Virginia may really have been that Russian lady.

Ah, dear Yitwail. I never sang any on Billy Holiday's songs, but Robert Gentle loved her.

To this day, I think Sean Connery (he is Scottish) did the best James Bond.

The music is pretty nice today. I have a record with all of Pat Boone's biggest recordings. He had a fine voice.
