Welcome back, Mon Ami. Don't much care for that James Brown song so here's a better one:

@Letty,
Sorry, I cannot stand James Brown. I found his singing a poor attempt to copy Ray Charles
Both Clyde Stubblefield nd Jabo Starks hated his guts too.
SO I feel that a suitable ANTI- BROWNIAN TUNE would be Stubblefield and Starks on their own.

@farmerman,
If you didn't like that I hope this one appeals. Im the a big Jerry Douglas fan and with Mss Colvin nd Krauss, this ones a great cover of a S&G song.

Ray Charles and friends

Good afternoon, yalses. I like a few James Brown songs, such as If I Ruled the World and I Feel Good, but that's about it. I do like his routine on stage.

I think our Frenchman was just having fun. Razz

Farmerman, my favorite one by you was Allison, Shane, and Jerry doing the Boxer.

edgar, Mark, I had no idea that there was a group called The Ray Charles singers. Thanks, Texas. Love Me With All of you Heart was great.

Going to say good afternoon with two songs. First, for our Aussie friends, a kids song:

Now, dear Perry:

I had no idea when I was younger that the Kukkaburra was a bird. Love to learn here, y'all.

Last excerpt from Punch dated 1st January 1887.

Quote:
ADVICE GRATIS

JIMMY- The correct pronunciation of "Psyche" is not "Psitch" as you seem to think. It rhymes with "Mikey." GOETHE is pronounced so as to rhyme with "Shirty." Your verses are promising.
STUDENT.-1. No; Pope did not write the Iliad. 2. The Great Seal is the impression on wax of the Arms of the Kingdom, and is always borne by the LORD CHANCELLOR. It is not a marine animal of unusually large dimensions. 3. Write to the Secretary of the Society for the Promotion of Useful Knowledge. Possibly he may reply to your other queries.
BROKEN-HEARTED.- We cannot really undertake to advise you as to what is your best course. Yours is a peculiar case. It is rare for any one person to be simultaneously threatened with epilepsy, deserted by her affianced lover after the banns have been already published, bitten by a dog which has been rendered insane through being led about by a string, expelled from her lodgings for non payment of rent, and thrown out of an active volcano. These events do not often happen together. Do not, at any rate, return the presents your lover gave you. If we were in your place we should convert them into cash. Then you might take out a County Court Summons against the owner of the dog, also of the volcano, and have something over for a Breach of Promise action.

Pullman, I appreciate your explanation of words and their pronunciation. I know about Goethe, as one of my friends here is name Gurda.

Two birthday guys for today.

@Letty,
No kidding, I do like James Brown, his voice in particular. He did a lot of poor records, but he has a rough side which I appreciate. That piece (Public Enemy) is in my view a truly great piece, which is why I aired it. But to each his or her own taste.

Olivier5, You can play what YOU like here. We don't have to like it. That's what makes our radio popular. I enjoyed that Easy Girl song, Mon Ami.

Welcome back, Mark Don't know that Polka song by Bobby. Once again thanks for the introduction.

Our Frenchman so Easy Girl reminded me of this one.

The Phoenix video was kind of confusing.

@edgarblythe,
Well, Mark, that was fast painting. Love I'm only sleeping by "the fab Four". Too bad that there are only two now.

Thinking of Pirates now, so here is a trailer:

and Whitney singing a lovely hymn. Remember, you don't have to be a theist to enjoy this one.
