I have never been a fan of Bond. In fact have never seen any of the movies.
Ray does that one particularly well.
It's a nice day here, so I plan to take advantage to do things the rain has prevented, today.

@edgarblythe,
As I said, Mark, Sean Connery is the only one that I ever liked.

Loved The Fab Four Doing Good Day Sunshine.

Ah, I miss going to the beach. Occasionally, I look at me sitting on the picnic table with a good sun tan. It's the healthiest I have ever been.

Well, here's someone telling the sunshine to go away:

Vicki Coren, herself an accomplished poker player, had a real anti Bond rant recently. She said poker is all about picking up signals, Bond is playing someone whose eyes bleed when he's under pressure, yet he still loses.

How about our poem for today, folks.

I love William Wordsworth:

My heart leaps up when I behold
A rainbow in the sky:
So was it when my life began;
So is it now I am a man;
So be it when I shall grow old,
Or let me die!
The Child is father of the Man;
And I could wish my days to be
Bound each to each by natural piety.

I like all things Hoagy, letty. Particularly this song he wrote the music for.

@edgarblythe,
Ah, Mark, dear Nat doing Stardust was fantastic. As I have noted before, he will never die as he lives on through his music.

Now I will NOT try to be politically correct when Hoagy refers to the man as colored. It's the intent behind the song that matters.

Huggin and Chalkin is not very correct, either, letty. Smile

Here is another of Hoagy's greatest songs. The song was written in 1930 by Hoagy Carmichael (music) and Stuart Gorrell (lyrics).

@edgarblythe,
I had forgotten about Huggin and Chalkin, Mark. I had no idea that Hoagy wrote the original version of Georgia on My Mind. It is now the State song of Georgia.

Here's a surprise. Today is this country singer's birthday, and it's Irish:

Back later, dear friends.

@Letty,
Thanks, Letty. Edmundo Ros was cool. The song was originally a Martinique folklore biguine with lyrics in creole, popularized by Henri Salvador. The French title is MALADIE d'Amour (Love Sickness).

Thanks, Izz with a y. I misrepresented my favor. I should have said: Thumb up the thread.

Ah, Moni Ami, Love that version by Henri and thanks for your comment and personal acknowledgement.

Hope our creator enjoyed that country singer from Ireland.

Going to say GOOD late afternoon with three songs. First, Hoagy again:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9lIqbiSXf4

Now, Better Days by a fantastic vocalist:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dlFj9iCnaIE

When I was a kid, we use to use a spider called daddy long legs. We would pull one of his legs and say: Which way did the cows go, and he would point his other leg to show us.

Here's what I found:

Fred Astaire and friends.

Great having England and France with us, and of course, Texas.

From Letty with love to all of you here
