I've been whining for a while about the new news websites

and I think I've observed a lot less room for comments.

The New Yorker's, for example, comments seem wiped whole.

Right now I'm looking at a photo at the Guardian that annoys me, not for its existence but for the slavering that someone made it. No place to comment, unless I'm occluded all by myself.

A large part of my interest in the Guardian has been reading what people across the pond think in their many ways. (wondering re changes).

Question: with these wholesale changes so smart phones can see stuff more easily now happening, are we losing useful comments?
I don't know - wondering.

I heard news sites were getting rid of their comments sections because those had been overrun by political hacks and trolls.
