HAPPY THANKSGIVING, EVERYONE!

Happy Thanksgiving,
Could you point me in the right direction? Is this the right forum to ask, where would you start? I'd like to have a string of 25-40 watt bulbs wired similar to a string of Christmas lights, with, a dimmer that would create a least to brightest sequence along the string. How do I do this?
