You have to find a comfortable mix between honesty and deceitfulness. If a used car salesman was totally honest, he wouldn't be able to sell his junk cars. If he was totally deceitful, people would hate him and never buy any cars. People love an honest person. A honest person you can always trust to never take your money. A honest person is usually not a rich person. If you want to be rich, you have to be deceitful in some if not most aspects. If you don't care about money, then honest will make people love you. If you love money, you can't be totally honest. Hope you get the picture of what that poem is about. You must find a comfortable mix of the two.
