Black hair with blue black tips

I recently dyed my hair jet black and I was thinking to add dimension I would dye the tips blue black, I don't want it all over just on the tips to add dimension kind of an ombre effect next time I touch up my hair does anyone have recommendations, I want it to be permanent and it can't be too blue so I won't be bleaching it, any ideas or hints if you've done this before.
