Hi, I'm finding these little insects all over the house. They usually walk on walls. There can be one or more at the time (I've seen up to six relatively close together).

They are about 1 mm long.

They jump, I haven't seen them fly yet although in the pictures I took, they do seem to have wings.

Here are some pictures (all are of the same kind of insect but taken at different times in different environments):

Thank you very much for your help.

@BioB,
Where are you located geographically?

One of the images looks like it might be a baby cockroach, but it's hard to say without a few better images.

@rosborne979,
I live in Ljubljana, Slovenia (Central Europe). I will try to get a video online. I made one with the insect in the glass (just like a few of the pics).

@rosborne979,
Here, it's a 5 MB .wmv video file of the insect in motion filmed in one of my shot glasses. This insect was about 2 mm long. It's a downloadable file, I shared it on filedropper.

@BioB,
It has wings so it doesn't appear to be a bed bug, or tick rather a flying insect of some sort, which is hard to determine as the colouring in the photos you provided are different.

You have a Museum in Slovenia, why not take one down to them, they will be able to answer your question.

@FOUND SOUL,
The first time I saw them, I thought they were fleas because they can jump. But when I caught one and looked at it with a magnifying glass and later took a picture with my USB "microscope" (the close-up pictures and video I shared), I wasn't sure what it was.

I'm a biologist (a molecular biologist, so unfortunately I don't remember much about insects) so I'll try some of my colleagues first but I'm not sure any of them is an entomologist. Then I'll probably take your advice and take one to the museum. The animals are very difficult to catch and transport without inflicting severe damage. I'll try anyway.

If anyone can identify the creature, please don't hesitate even though I'll take it to the museum.

Thank you for the response.

@BioB,
After further research, I'm pretty sure they're a sort of book lice.

Especially because of the shape of the wings and some other features, like long antennae, size, head and jaw (which I saw searching images online). I don't know what they're doing on the walls all over the house but that's a mystery I have to solve now.

Picture from one of the pest control site:

Thank you very much everyone!

I would say you are right. The wings in particular look very similar, as does the body and antennae.

@BioB,
Bed mites, fleas, would have worried me, hard to get rid off.

In a little google search myself, it suggests that they don't live in books, rather they go for mould. You must have mould on your walls.
