Hi, there might be benefits of tagging such as:
-allows multiple access points to information
-allows fast discovery of a range of other items
-establishes relationships between people with the same content
-permits multiple access points to information

there's also disadvantages like duplication and redundancy, because the vocabulary is uncontrolled; and lack of hierarchy

My mother has my army dog tags at home. Forgot to take them with me after my last visit, a couple of weeks ago.
