I'm installing an outdoor 30 amp power inlet box so I can connect my generator to my existing breaker panel. And yes, I'm using an interlock device at the panel for safety. The outdoor power inlet box/plug has 4 terminals, L1, L2, Neutral, and Ground. I'm planning on running 10-3 with ground from the outdoor inlet plug to my panel. At the panel, I understand L1 and L2 will go to the 30 amp (interlock protected) back feed breaker, and both the neutral and ground wire go to my existing common ground and neutral bar in my breaker panel. Is that correct?
Also, the generator has a sticker under the 30 amp twist lock plug that says 'neutral bonded to frame'. Do I need to separate that bond when using it as I intend? I understand there is a jumper which can/should be removed? Should I remove that jumper/bond at the generator?
