We just installed wood floor in our dining room? Is anarea rug necessary for under the dining table. How do we determine the right size rug?

For the sizing, sit in a chair at the table. The rug should extend out far enough for you to be able to move the chair to stand up or scoot closer to the table without having to navigate the edge of the rug to do so.
