you know it's odd, but in TO we have a public TV station - TV Ontario - that largely (mixed with a good variety of information shows) shows reruns of British series - Father Tom, Heartbeat, etc.etc., and similarly on a PBS station from Buffalo N.Y. we get similar programming (mixed with truly awful music shows of the Lawrence Welk sort); but it is strange to me to even imagine any Brits having the slightest interest in U.S. sitcoms.

												No.. England devours them; England, apart from a few oddballs like myself, is exactly like America these days; to paraphrase Wilde, England and America are two countries with everything in common except for language. Weirdly, England-- doesn't like much the more 'urbane' shows: Frasier is on in the middle of the night on the Alternative channel, which has sold its soul to get viewers (it now hosts Big Brother.)
