Have you really seen any of the Gamora movies? Kenny is a frequent (and very obnoxious*) character that permeates many of the Toho monster movies. He's (for lack of a better word) the actual protagonist/audience surrogate in these films (albeit to pander to young boys).

The line is probably just a random riff by one of the MST3k folk during one of these Gamora movies they have tackled during the pretty long run of the series. It's funny (subjectively speaking) because he's such an unlikable character.

I guess this would have been more appropriate to the geek humor thread (if it hasn't devolved into meat recipes and such nonrelevant topics).

*I'm not the only one who cannot stand this whiny brat of a bland personality-less character. He's a running joke amongst many Japanese monster movie fans.

I know you're very interested in anime, and these type movies seem akin to them, at least in my non-anime mind.

I don't know about infrablue, but I last saw one of these movies probably 40 years ago. I saw them when younger on channel 9 (or was it 11? seems like more of a channel 9 thing)

I know for a fact I wouldn't have recognized the name Kenny even right after watching the movie. I seem to remember not really understanding anything they were saying.

Yeah, I've really seen Gamera, albeit a long time ago when I was a kid and don't recall the details.

This totally isn't dissing you tsar. I looked up Gamera Kenny and learned not only that Kenny's name was Toshio and was just dubbed in English as Kenny.

Also, I learned that Gamera was a turtle. I totally did not know that. I never thought about what he was, just some big creature.

BUT! In Japanese Godzilla mean more or less gorilla-whale.

Also, Toho was the movie company that produced the Godzilla movies. Gamera was produced by Daiei Film as a direct competitor to Toho's Godzilla franchise.

Looks like the poor man is trying to 'spit' against the wind.

From the Oscar-nominated antiwar documentary, Waltz with Bashir (2008). I cannot wholeheartedly recommend it enough. It's a touch on the weird side but with a stunning score and its gorgeous animated visuals? A perfect documentary.
