Two fixed posts are d feet apart. When n posts are set equally spaced, between the two fixed posts, calculate distance (in feet) apart any two consecutive posts will be.

What is known:

Two posts are fixed and are d feet apart.

A number of posts n are set evenly spaced between the two fixed posts.

Want to know:

Distance apart ( in feet) any two consecutive posts will be.

Fixed posts are 1000 feet apart.

n posts - 200

How do I proceed from this point ?

@Randy Dandy,
Divide the total distance by the number of spaces to get d.

@Randy Dandy,
You have not divided by the number of spaces.

200 - 1 = 199

1000 / 199 = 5.02512 = 5

If that is not correct I don't know.
