Which is the best photo printer?
Have you looked into "Consumer Reports" or "PC World"? Both are good sources of information.
I've had an Epson Stylus SX 400 home printer for about 3 years and it works just fine..
It cost me about £100 (150 dollars) but i'm sure you can get cheaper printers

@kellynevers,
I'd consider not using one at all. The ink cost is high, the paper cost is high and you have to maintain it. Online services like Shutterfly allow you to upload pictures and print them on the cheap. You can take a USB drive to a drug store or Wal Mart and get prints as well.
There are actually a lot of good photo printers out there. Latest Epson, HP & Canon photo printers are quite good. But the prices vary on type & specs of printer you like. Usually you can get a good printer which are really efficient on photo printing & even printing business cards, price ranges from $150 to $1300. I would agree that inks & maintenance would cost that much. You can actually find online printing companies which offer photo printing and charge reasonable amount.
