1. Solve these for me:

1. x - 4=-9

2. 7x - 22= -1

3. 4(x-5) -4 =-4

===============
Simplify: 6-2x2+8+2
4x2+8+2
8 +8+2
16 +2
18
=========================

Simplify: (3/4)^2 +5/8x1/2-3/8
9/8 +5/8 x 1/2 - 3/8
14/8 x 1/2 - 3/8
this is where I am stuck, Am I doing it right?

=================================

A company is shipping three noxes weighing 5 3/4 lb, 2 1/2 lb, and 4 1/8
lb,. What is the total weight of shipment?

========================================

Is this correct?

Divide: 6/0.013
0013. into 6000.
=461.5384
round to the nearest hundred: 461.54

wow! sorry for asking, but how old are you?
First few are tasks for elementary school...

1) x-4=-9
x=-9+4
x=-5

2) 7x-22=-1
7x=-1+22
7x=21
x=3

3) 4(x-5) -4 = -4
4x-20-4=-4
4x=-4+4+20
4x=20
x=5

4)6-2x2+8+2 - wrong, when you have task without brackets, then multiplying and dividing are always before + and -
therefor:

6-4+8+2
12

5)same thing
(3/4)^2 +5/8x1/2-3/8

9/16 + 5/16 - 3/8

9/16 + 5/16 - 6/16

8/16

1/2

5 3/4lb + 2 1/2 lb + 4 1/8 lb equals:

23/4 lb + 5/2 lb + 33/8 lb

46/8 lb + 20/8 lb + 33/8 lb

99/8 lb

12 3/8 lb

your last one is correct.

Fractions and decimals... it's the little things that mean so much...

Part 1. No, you should look at the text and see the examples given for clues on how to do this.
->One big piece of advice! Show every step of your work!<-

Parts 2 and 3... a request from the guy on the other side of the internet... instead of using 'x' for the multiplication operator, use '*'. Since you are also showing questions using 'x' as an unknown, it is unclear what the 'x' is supposed to be...

Part 2. Are their missing parenthesis? Or are you unfamiliar with the precedence, or order of operations?

Part 3. A train wreck. A fraction raised to a power is the numerator raised to the power divided by the denominator rasied to the power: (a/b)^2 = (a^2)/(b^2) Then you need to get all the denominators the same...

Part 4. See my response for part 1.

Part 5. Correct.
