I have dyed light auburn hair which is becoming too brassy with the sun. I would like more of a medium auburn but the medium auburn color on the box looks too purple and I am afraid to use that. So, I was wondering if I can mix the light auburn with the dark auburn. I use Preference my L'Oreal.
It would be looking like good color combination, but using one color only will be looking more good.

You'll probably do well to go to a pro and having them help you out. I suggest this because they can not only correct the brassiness problem, they can also suggest to you what to use at home (my guy didn't give me brand suggestions, but he did tell me the kind of color to use, e. g. I was using a blonde shade that was too reddish and he suggested more of an ash and I admit it looks considerably better).

Yes you can half & half will be middle of the two or you can adjust the final color by doing 1/3 dark + 2/3 light if the dark color seems really dark.
