Will dying hair red over a faded blue turn purple? & bleaching help

I want my hair red, but I just bleached it and my hair is still a semi blue. It's been blue for a couple months.I don't really want to bleach it again because I'm afraid of the damage it might do to my already damaged hair. Should I go ahead and bleach my hair again, or put the red in? I really don't want it half purple half red man.

Just a note - dying is when you croak, dyeing is when you artificially color your hair. Anyhow, a lot depends on stuff like the brand and formulas of the different colored dyes. Some types can react together and give odd colors or even more hair damage. Better to wait until you have some new hair to play with.

Cut off a small hair sample and dye that to see how it turns out.

I like chai's idea. This is the strand test that every home hair coloring box tells you to do, and so many people never bother with.
