a tank is 2/3 full,when 2400litres of water is drawn it becomes 1/4.how much water does the water hold when full

Let V be the volume of the tank.

2/3V-1/4V=2400 l

(2/3-1/4)V=2400 l

(8/12-3/12)V=2400 l

5/12V=2400 l

V=12/5*2400 l

V=24/10*2400 l

V=24*240 l

V=5760 l

Check answer

2/3*5760 l= 3840 l

1/4*5760 l= 1440 l

3840 l-1440 l= 2400 l

OK

So

V= 5760 l
