(Butty is a very common colloquial English expression for two slices of bread, spread with butter, for preference, with something in between such as chips (fries), cheese and tomato, jam or sliced cucumber. With the last named the crusts are taken off and the bread is cut diagonally. It's posh.
Most historians and other nitwits call them "sandwiches". I ask you? Who would eat a sandwich in their right mind.)
