I hired a company to clean any viruses from my PC. Now, whenever I do a Google search, I arrive at a Yahoo! page, with my search results.

Why? How to fix it?

Exactly how did you um... hire a company to do that? You didn't perchance just click on a random banner ad from the internet did you?

Because it's likely you were duped into some scheme that put more crap on your computer (spyware, malware, spamware, crapware, whateverware, etc...) from the very sketchy/skeezy company you arbitrarily hired without finding out whether it was a legitimate and honorable service or not.

@gollum,
What browser are you using? You need to tell it to use Google as the default search. Varies depending which browser.

@gollum,
From memory there's a little downward pointing triangle next to the bit you type a search in. Click on it too see a list of search engines, click on google, Firefox should remember this setting from then on.

@gollum,
Mozilla allows you to decide which search engine to use as your default. It also allows you to add more search engines if you want to. Click the drop down in the search box and it should give you options.

edit - What hinge said ^
