I am asked to find the volume of a cube which has a surface area a 300 units squared. I have no clue at how to to even begin solving this problem, help would be much appreciated.

Another Problem i am having trouble with is this one. A square pyramid has a surface area of 138 inches squared and base edge of 6. Find its slant hight. Any help whatsoever on these 2 problems would be very helpful.

Considering I have a test on this stuff on friday!!

Not that I'm going to do your homework for you, but...

A cube... 300 sq. for surface area, what's it's volume. Well... what you need is the length of one side, no? So... break it down. What's the area of one side? What's the require length to give you that area.

The pyramid is just a little bit harder... but the idea is the same: break the problem down into tiny pieces.

This is what i did, correct me if Im wrong. I divided 300 into (6 sides of the Cube) and got that each side of the cube was 50 square units. After this I am stuck. With the information i was given and figured out i have no clue how o figure anything else out. i cant figure out what the perimeter of 1 side of the cube would be. knowing the perimeter of a side or height of the cube i could figure this all out. Im not saying that i want you to just give em the answer, but instead if you know it, the formula or formulas i need to use would be of much help. Thank you for your help.

Ok, so you have a square with an area of 50 square units.

What's the area of a square?

Now i get this whole problem. I divided the 300 by 6 and got that each square was 50 units squared. I then got the square root of 50 which gave me the length of 1 side and I cubed it. Thats how i got the answer, I looked in the back of my book to check the work and it was right. Thanks guys i couldn't have figurd it out without your help.
