Banksy has posted a new art mural on his website that is being dubbed 'Mobile Lovers', but its location (at least for the next few hours) remains a mystery.
[...]
The double yellow lines, cobbled streets and black lamppost that serve as the mural's canvas suggest the graffiti was stencilled somewhere in the UK, but no-one has as yet tracked it down.

@Walter Hinteler,
No clue as to location but.

Quote:
The "guerrilla artist" Banksy is believed to be behind a piece of street art depicting three shadowy figures eavesdropping - three miles from the Government listening post GCHQ.

The artwork, which appeared in Cheltenham on Sunday, depicts three men wearing sunglasses and using listening devices to "snoop" on a telephone box.

The piece has already attracted hundreds of visitors.

Banksy has not yet claimed the work but it bears his hallmarks, say experts.

@Walter Hinteler,
I just heard it now, thought it was the pic you posted until I went on the website. I've been out all day, and I'm only just catching up.

Our local stone is called "Anröchter Stein", a green limestone. (There's a blue variety as well, called "Klieverblue", lesscommon.)

It has been used since the High Middle Ages.
In our district town Soest, all yards, gardens, etc within the borders of the old town wall ...

... must be "fenced" with stone walls (More than 130 km stone walls there)

A monk walks a dusty road in Bagan, the ancient capital of Myanmar (Burma)—and a sight to rival Cambodia's Angkor Wat. The area once held 13,000 pagodas dating back to the second century A.D., many built of brick that was plastered and painted. Earthquakes and the Ayeyarwady River destroyed more than 10,000 of them.

@Walter Hinteler,
Since it's a wall:
- the location has been found,
- the graffiti has been removed

Oldest Church in Amsterdam

I once walked all over the city of Amsterdam and ended up in a area of town, by the water I believe, that was quite ornate. The signs said the buildings were built in the 1400's can anyone find some pictures of these houses?

@RexRed,
The houses were "Spanish" in style. At the time I visited they were very nicely painted and very beautiful if I recall correctly most of the houses had balconies.

Thingbæk Limestone Mines
Easter Sunday there is a candlelight with 3 000 candles and gospel arrangement in the mines
Wherever you go you wil almost surely find a museum or an art gallery, but perhaps none so unusual as this one at Thingbæk.
Here some unique sculptures are exhibited in a disused chalk mine, a dramatic setting heightened by strategically placed subdued lighting.
The works displayed are the creations of two notable Danish sculptors from the 1900 century, Anders Bundgaard and Carl Johan Bonnesen.
