@Walter Hinteler,
You can do "cabriolet tunnel tours" ('Cabrio Tunnel Touren') through Berlin's underground railway system ...

@Lordyaswas,
I've seen some of what is planned in today's Guardian - but in Berlin, it's done on the lines of the regular underground railway. (Two hours tour, 40€ the ticket, all tours booked out for 2014.)

@izzythepush,
Krubera Cave, Abkhazia, Georgia: the deepest cave on earth, going down more than 2000 meters under the earth with air and waterfalls all the way down. It takes more than a month to reach the bottom.

That is incredible. The most I've done is Cheddar.

It is the birthplace of cheddar cheese. The caves are still used to mature cheeses today.

Akashi-Kaikyo Bridge, Kobe-Iwaya, Japan.

Known as the Pearl Bridge, Akashi-Kaikyo is the one of the most magnificent structures in a country famous for them. The near-2 km suspension bridge holds the world record for length and links beautiful Kobe to Iwaya on Awaji Island.

An erdstall, "Ratgöbluckn", near Perg, Mühlviertel area north of Linz, the capital of Upper Austria. (From around 1000A.D.)
There are more than 1,200 erdstalls in Germany and Austria alone (the one above is one of the greatest, which can be visited).
Erdstall tunnels mainly date back to the Middle Ages, most built in the period between 950 and 1050 A.D.
Some, however, may have origins already in the Stone Age - 5,000 years ago.

@Walter Hinteler,
Ridge Lane tramway tunnel, Yorkshire
The last tram to run through here was in 1916, A new inclined section was built from the mine site North to connect with the nearby Middlesbrough-Whitby line. The tunnel was then surplus to requirements and abandoned. The Ridge lane tunnel line used to run through a second tunnel at Port Mulgrave. Ridge lane tunnel is around 400 yards long

The Nauener Tor in Potsdam. ( (The Nauen Gate is one of the three preserved gates of Potsdam. Built in 1755, it is one of the first [and finest examples] of English Gothic Revival architecture in Continental Europe.)

There are so many things to see in India that's amazing and impressive that most people have not seen or are aware of. I'd like to bring some of what I saw during my three trips to that country to share with the people of a2k who are interested.

This was taken on the east coast in South India in 2010.
