@Miss L Toad,
Miss L Toad,

A dozen dozen candies at half a dozen dimes a dozen- 12 x 12 = 144
144 x .60 = 86.40

Half a dozen dozen candies at a dozen dimes a half dozen- 144 / 2 = 72
72 / 6 = 12 X .60 = 7.20

I don't think that is correct. Thanks.

@Randy Dandy,
Relax, you don't have to say thanks all the time.

You need to read the questions more carefully in order to fully understand them before you start calculating.

Quote:
A dozen dozen candies at half a dozen dimes a dozen- 12 x 12 = 144
144 x .60 = 86.40

That's 144 at 60 cents a dozen is 144 at 5 cents each = $7.20

Quote:
Half a dozen dozen candies at a dozen dimes a half dozen- 144 / 2 = 72
72 / 6 = 12 X .60 = 7.20

That's 72 at $1.20 for 6, which is 20 cents each = 72 x 0.20 = $14.40
