What happened to him? He sure has aged!!Wink. I had a super crush on his voice and style when we were much younger. Was introduced to him by my first and only true love.

@Butrflynet,
Gordon Lightfoot was one of my faves, too. I was a bit surprised to find out that he's 75 yrs old. I find his voice to be a bit less robust than it once was...but as you'll read, it's amazing he's still with us.

Sadly, Gordon has had major and minor health problems. In 2002, he underwent surgery for a ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm, endured a six-week coma and a tracheotomy, and he underwent four surgical operations. After a long recovery, a time off from touring, he resumed some lower-key touring by 2004.

Furthermore, he had a minor stroke a few years back around '06. the minor stroke gave him some temporary arm/right-hand mobility issues, but have since returned totally. He's playing guitar as well as ever.

He had a past history of alcohol and drug abuse which he rehabbed from many years ago. He was involved with dedicating a rehab facility in downtown Toronto to help other sufferers.
