A brick balances on a scale with three quarters of a brick and three quarters of a pound. Calculate weight of the brick. Thanks.

That's not correct.
B = 3/4 * B + 3/4
subtract 3/4 * B from both sides to get
1/4 * B = 3/4
multiply both sides by 4 to eliminate the fractions to get
B = 3
