saw some punk like shows mid 80's at the silver dollar

one hot summer night about 300% humidity in the basement, much banging and slipping and generally body abuse

Yikes. The Silver Dollar means Murray Mclauchlan in the 1970's to me. Still a great place if you like Georgette Fry or Jack deKeyser. One of the best blue venues in town these days. http://www.silverdollarroom.com/

Can't believe I've been going there for nearly 30 years.

I moshed once or twice at 7th Street Entry (punk annex to 1st Avenue of "Purple Rain" fame.) It was ROUGH, though, I didn't exactly enjoy it. Did it more as a "see, I'm tough" thing than anything else. My actual tough friend Mali loved it.
